Set after the events of The Night Inside, the story follows newly turned vampire Ardeth Alexander and five-hundred-year-old Dimitri Rozokov as they flee Toronto for Banff in the Canadian Rockies, where their attempt to live on animal blood is threatened by a relentless yakuza hunter linked to the notorious vampire Sadamori Fujiwara.
