Description

Clunia Tempranillo is a red wine from the V.T Castilla y León produced by the Clunia winery. This is a single-variety wine made exclusively with Tempranillo grapes.

The grapes used to produce this wine come from the El Gerbal vineyard, which spans across three and a half hectares and lies at an altitude of 970 metres. The grapes undergo a triple selection process. Firstly during the harvest, which is carried out manually. Then, at the winery, the grapes pass through a selection belt, followed by a vibrating table, which eliminates the grapes which are not sufficiently mature.

Once the grapes have been selected, the winemaking process begins with alcoholic fermentation followed by maceration which lasts for 18 days. Before being aged, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels. Finally, Clunia Tempranillo is aged for 12 months in 20% French and 80% American oak barrels, as well as 6 months in the bottle.

The Clunia winery belongs to the Príncipe de Viana group. Located in the town of Coruña del Conde, the winery faces difficult conditions when producing their wines: arid land, hard structure, with adverse climates and located at a high altitude.

Contains sulphites.

Pairings: Beans and pulses, Grilled red meats, Stew, Large game.
